Why:

The reason for doing this challenge came after my big love of the Baldur’s Gate games and Icewind Dale games with the objective to train my imagination and problem solving ability by picking one of the many spells in the game and re-imagine them as fast as I could. All of these images are unfinished and many give much to be desired from and some of them have the potential to become some of the best work I have. Trial and failure is part of the artistic and technical career and this little challenge demonstrate a consecutive example of what means to live submerged into this labor without cowering from the results.
It is understood that the way to achieve mastery in a craft is to be able to learn from our own mistakes. To pretend that our own career and lives are supposed to be these pristine samples of the human condition is to fail to understand our own ability to grow and why do we do what we do.
Here the quality and the finished rendering of some of my best pieces in my portfolio become redundant and unnecesary, because is the topic and how I’m trying to solve these problems what matters. This is how I nurture my creativity.
